i definetly feel that minority groups are under-represented in spanking porn. after all, it is a fetish within another fetish, so it's an even smaller sub group. i rarely see asian, african american or latin american models on popular spanking sites. if i do see asian girls, most of the time, they're on their own "asian" spanking sites. i don't know if this is because the spanking consumer don't want to see them. i mean, apart from my ethnicity, i'm an all canadian girl. i don't think if i was a spanking model, i'd belong on one of those asian fetish sites. i feel like my attitude, behaviour, etc would fit better on mainstream spanking sites.

i was wondering garyspk, what does it take to become a model on your site? i mean specifically, what type of requirements are you looking for? i'm just wondering because i've always been curious about modelling in spanking videos, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there about what requirements there are.

I can only speak for our sites. My partners in our company pretty much let me handle the content. I'm really lucky in that regard. They just default to me. I make the decisions on who we use based on a couple of things:

1) The model's overall physical appeal. That's a hard thing to quantify. It's subjective. I will give just about anyone one chance. But as far as being a repeat model, it's got to be someone that appeals to the spanko in me. A great bottom and a bit of either a playful attitude or a bratty attitude is necessary. For our long-time customers, one of our early "underground stars" was a girl named Renee. She was very playful. A newer model for us is a girl named Skylar, who has the natural brat thing going. Every now and then we get a girl who has both (Amber and Heather come to mind). Those 4 would be good examples of what I mean.

2) Whether or not I think the particular model will sell product. As much of a spanko as I am, I also run a business. It's got to be someone who I think will get people to our sites and get them to come back again and again. I'll use just about any girl on our SpankingInterviews.com site if she has a great real-life story. But for our ongoing regular models, I have to put my business hat firmly on.

This strategy has worked very well for us since 1999, when we first started up AmateurSpankings.com. I constantly ask for feedback on our models. Occasionally one will get good response that I hadn't suspected would. But overall, I've done this long enough to guess pretty well. Our customers let us know who they like and what they like. My job is to try to please as many of them as possible so they'll be repeat customers.

We've been really lucky to have some fantastic models in our 9 years. If I started naming all of the really good ones, I'd be here all day. But make no mistake, our great models are the reason we've been successful.
