My favorite Christmas song is O Holy Night, it brings tears to my eyes. And it's fun to sing! I love the part of Home Alone when he goes into the church and there's a choir singing the "fall on your knees" part. So beautiful.

LOL "Fairytale of New York"??? That song is used in the film "PS I Love You". I know because I was a background extra in the film. Particularly the part where the girl sings "You scumbag you maggot you cheap lousy faggot Merry Christmas your arse I pray God it's our last". Sheesh.

Ny favoritest christmas song is Hark! The Herald Angels Sing! I love it!! I love to sing along to iiitttt.

Hark the herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled"
Joyful, all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With the angelic host proclaim:
"Christ is born in Bethlehem"
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Christ by highest heav'n adored
Christ the everlasting Lord!
Late in time behold Him come
Offspring of a Virgin's womb
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see
Hail the incarnate Deity
Pleased as man with man to dwell
Jesus, our Emmanuel
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Hail the heav'n-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings
Ris'n with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

My favorite religious Christmas song is Oh Holy Night or I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day.

In secular songs I would have to say my favorite is Twelve Days of Christmas (Hawaiian or Local style) Mele Kalikimaka

Numbah One day of Christmas, my tutu give to me
One mynah bird in one papaya tree. (tutu is grandmother in pideon Hawaiian)

Numbah Two day of Christmas, my tutu give to me
Two coconut, an' one mynah bird in one papaya tree.

Numbah Tree day of Christmas, my tutu give to me
Tree dry squid, two coconut,
An' one mynah bird in one papaya tree.

Numbah Foah day of Christmas, my tutu give to me
Foah flowah lei, tree dry squid, two coconut,
An' one mynah bird in one papaya tree.

Numbah Five day of Christmas, my tutu give to me
Five beeg fat peeg... foah flowah lei, tree dry squid, two coconut,
An' one mynah bird in one papaya tree.

Numbah Seex day of Christmas, my tutu give to me
Seex hula lesson, five beeg fat peeg (that make TEN!),
Foah flowah lei, tree dry squid, two coconut,
An' one mynah bird in one papaya tree.

Numbah Seven day of Christmas, my tutu give to me
Seven shrimp a-swimmin', seex hula lesson,
Five beeg fat peeg, foah flowah lei, tree dry squid, two coconut,
An' one mynah bird in one papaya tree.

I'm another one that is huge on "Fairytale of New York" by the Pogues. Definitely my favourite Christmas song.

Others in my top ten would be:

"2000 Miles" by the Pretenders
"Rockin' around the Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee
"Silent Night" by Elvis
"Merry Christmas to you" by Nat King Cole
"Have yourself a merry little Christmas" by Judy Garland
"Mary's boy child" by Harry Belafonte
"When a child is born" by Johnny Mathis
"Pretty Paper" by Roy Orbison

Ok, so I only have 9, lol. I'll just throw in "Run Rudolph Run" by Chuck Berry to round it out ;-)

Richard Windsor.

I remember a song we sung in middle school titled the "Twelve Days After Christmas"

The first day after Christmas
my true love and I had a fight.
And so I chopped the pear tree down
and burnt it, just for spite.

Then with a single cartridge
I shot that blasted partridge.
My true love, my true love, my true love gave to me.

The second day after Christmas
I pulled on the old rubber gloves
and very gently wrung the necks
of both the turtle doves.
My true love, my true love, my true love gave to me.

On the third day after Christmas
my mother caught the croup.
I had to use the three French hens
to make some chicken soup

The four calling birds were a big mistake
for their language was obscene.
The five golden rings were completely fake
and they turned my fingers green.

The sixth day after Christmas,
the six laying geese wouldn't lay.
I sent the whole darn gaggle to
the A.S.P.C.A.

On the seventh day, what a mess I found.
All seven of the swimming swans had drowned.

My true love, my true love, my true love gave to me.

The eighth day after Christmas
before they could suspect.
I bundled up the
eight maids-a-milking, nine ladies dancing, ten lords-a-leaping, eleven pipers piping, twelve drummers drumming - well, actually I kept one of the drummers – and sent them back collect.

I wrote my true love "We are through, love!"

And I said in so many words "Furthermore, your Christmas gifts are for the
four calling birds, three Frence Hens, Two Turtle doves

And a partridge in a pear treeeeeeeeeeee."

When I hear this one now, I often think of the Charlie Brown Christmas special.
