I'm a wood guy myself, depending on the position. For OTK, I prefer a wooden hairbrush or a small type of paddle. Those little wooden toy paddles that used to come with a string and ball were perfect. However, the ones made today are either too flimsy or made of a light plastic and can't produce the sting of the older models.
For a bent over position, I prefer a larger paddle, more of a school or sorority type. However, I don't like the real heavy board type paddles. I prefer a lighter, thinner models that have more of a whiplash action as opposed to ones that land with a heavy, bruising thud.
