What's your opinion about corner time ?
 

When I was actively spanking my lady friend I used it occasionally if we were doing a Daddy/daughter sort of scenario (rare) but I'd find it uninteresting after a short time. After three minutes or so I got bored even if the view was appealing. :) Maybe if she'd been the sort to whine about being in the corner and tried to talk me out of it...but she was a good girl and stayed still. :)

Jake and I generally don't practice cornertime, but the very few times I have spent in the corner I hated it! I absolutely hated it!

From a spanker's standpoint, it has a few uses. It's a little demoralizing for the spankee to be standing in the corner with her bare bottom exposed. After a really severe spanking, the spankee can stand in the corner with the warning "If you rub your bottom at all while you're there, you'll be right back over my knee.". And of course, it's just nice to observe that bare bottom on display for a while as the spankee contemplates her punishment.

Having said all that, I hardly ever use it myself because the one time I did, I kinda dozed off in my chair while I was looking at her bottom. Sheesh :(

I am a big fan of corner time for spankees. I like to use corner time to prepare a bottom for a spanking. It gives them time to build anticipation for the spanking, and I like corner time for afterwards as a way for the bottom to calm down and re-group especially if it was a real discipline session.

Its something I've never had any interest in personally. But I think this is probably something that, among many things, such be discussed in great detail before playing. And if I were going to spank a woman who had said she enjoyed corner time, then I would find a way to incorporate it into our play. If not, its something I would never suggest or demand.

This is one of those questions where there is no right or wrong answers, but falls according to preferences and what works and doesn't work.

In my case, I'm not a personal fan of corner time, but do use it on occasion for one reason or another when I think it has some benefit or, in the case of play, some desire by the bottom.

That being said, I highlighted the above quote to just illustrate how one can take totally oppositve views on something. In my case, I would tell the spankee that if they are NOT rubbing, then I must not have done the job well enough and it's time for another round. ;) I also consider rubbing to be a little sign of more complete submission, if you have someone who has a defiant mind and wants to not rub just so that she doesn't show a reaction (or as little as possible).

Taking notes and writing...."be sure to rub bottom...." ;)

Good grief Black Velvet. Are you turning into an old man or something?? Dozing off??? I can think of many things I've done, or would LIKE to have done while looking at a girl's bottom standing in the corner, but I don't think dozing off is one of them. LOL.

I have two real life friends, one younger and one elderly, who met a few years ago because they had been good friends online for a long time. They met for a weekend at a hotel between where they lived (both drove a good distance). Both were lacking some rest, and after downing a couple of bottles of wine while she was across his lap they BOTH fell asleep!

The only thing that surprises me is that they admitted it! The story gets told around now at an event that we both attend each summer.

I can very honestly say that I have never dozed off during a spanking on either end! ;) Thank goodness! I have wanted to sit down while doing corner time, but knew that was a very bad idea...I don't think Dr. D would like that very much! ;)

I have gotten bored with a spankee in corner time, so then I usually just usually spank them some more! :)

A bit of a tangent from the line of conversation, but I once heard a brat answer, when asked what her ideal design for a room would be, "A round one!"

Well then, I guess we'll just have to correct that little oversight on my part. Corner time is for reflecting on what ever it was that earned you a spanking and corner time in the first place and how you will not be committing that same offense again.

I'ts Las Vegas Debi! Because Rick and I have children, I often spend evenings in the corner for my behavior, especially my mouth. I can't help my back talk and disrespect...apparently, so it's a great alternative to a loud spanking. I often will request it when he forgets about the corner as an option, because it gives me time to think and refelect about what I have done, and because I thrive on punishment to relieve stress, it becomes a great outlet. Don't get me wrong...I HATE IT, especially after a long day; I'm tired and have been on my feet all day and ten minutes seems like hours...but if we liked it it wouldn't be effective punishment.:( We'll have to talk more, and I hope we can all get together soon, but I thought it would be fun to answer this thread, since I was such a professional corner dweller! LOL

This weekend there was no corener time for this naughty girl. I spent almost all of Saturday over the bed getting the spanking of a life time for a week's worth of bad behavior :( . It finally caught up with me :o , and my bottom was reintroduced to Rick's thick belt, our wicked friend ...the cane, and a few of Ian's special leather implements!!! Ouch! it was a long Saturday! umm... I can't imagine that spanking will last more than a few days... :p It never does. The brat who dwells inside of me can't help but resurface every 48-72 hours. LOL

Just long enough for the tenderness of a prior spanking to disappear I presume ?...:)

I have to agree with Veronica there are some very positive uses for corner time before, during and after a real discipline/punishment session. It is usually a spot where the spankee has time to contemplate what is coming and then a place for them to go get themselves calmed down before I take and give them a nice long hug.

Hi All, I'm new to this forum. I would have to say that as a "spankee" I hate corner time. I can tolerate it once in between spankings but if I'm sent there more than once.............. I'll try to get out of it. I find it humiliating not to mention boring as heck! :P Of course, it DOES make me think.......... "how do I get out of this?", "Maybe he'll leave and I can hide some implements" and the list goes on, lol

i have only been put in the corner "professionally" when i was working as a pro sub and the client put me in the corner as part of the session and since work is work usually i really appreciated corner time because the clock was ticking and you didn't have to interact so much with someone you were not nuts about. I woudl think corner time woudl be good if you are dealing with a guy who is shy or has soem intimacy problems and wants to masturbate after he spanks you

Hmmmm...making a lady stand in the corner so the spanker can admire his "hand"iwork. That's an angle I hadn't really considered.

I have always hated spanking videos that have no aftermath. In other words, those that fade out as soon as the final spank has landed. Perhaps cornertime is a good way to let the viewer get a good look at a well-spanked bottom and see the girl's reaction as she tries to recover. So I can see it as a vehicle for that.

So I can see where cornertime has some merit. But I still don't like to use it unless the woman suggests it before hand. I would much prefer to use that special time right after a spanking to comfort her. I'd rather spend that time kissing and licking her sore bottom than further humiliating her by forcing her into what I consider a childish position.

I couldn't agree with you more. We try to get a lingering shot of the girl's spanked bottom in nearly every video (long or short form) that we do. I've always thought that was important and can't believe more producers don't do that. It sure seems like that is an important part of the equation.
