I think the term "bratting" has a negative connotation with some, that it doesn't really deserve, if it's done properly. To me, bratting isn't being malicious or nasty, or doing anything to cause real annoyance or anger. It's about being playful and feisty, about teasing and challenging the top a bit, seeing if he has a sense of humor. And of course, getting the desired result.

Sometimes, it's just more fun to ask for a spanking indirectly, with some sass. :p For those of us who chafe at being submissive, it is next to impossible to come right out and say, "Please, may I have a spanking?"

It's all about degrees. For example, if I'm at the dinner table with a top, it's harmless, bratty fun to dip my finger into the water glass and flick it at him, spraying him with just a few light droplets. I think having a girl brat a little with me can be fun, but again there has to be some kind of fore knowledge. If someone just came up and flicked water in my face I wouldn't necessarily assume that she wanted me to spank her. If we both knew before hand that she was getting spanked later then by all means, brat away.

WHAT WORKS: I too am one who loves playing for extended periods of time. WHAT I HATE: I hate the wrapping of any implement. I understand that misfires happen, but if it's a consistent thing, then I will probably stop the spanking. BRATTING: I don't like excessive bratting - either doing it or watching it. WHAT DOES NOT WORK: I hate "talkers". I know some people really get into it but don't like it. I've never done role play, but that doesn't appeal.

WHAT WORKS: Well.....I like bare bottomed over the knee. I also prefer to be spanked without my clothes on. And I love implements--whips, paddles, straps. I love being cuffed and having a collar put on too. It puts me in the frame of mind of "I am being subjected to this".

I maybe like more of the top/bottom scene and a little less of the BDSM scene, but for me a combination is the best of both worlds. For me, spankiing is like a kind of foreplay and what goes on after a spanking is as important as what goes on during. When I am involved with someone, I will only be playing with that person. For now, I will play once in a while if a man's intentions are the same as mine, if not, celibacy suits me fine. Guess you can call me an all or nothing person!

New to this posting bit.
I like the story side of spanking. Perhaps some see pleasure through pain, either of self or others. But I find the written word far more stimulating and imaginative. To date, I have found over two hundred sites with good stories on them. Just goes to show how our hobby is so good for the mind.
Do not get me wrong, I enjoy putting the wife over my knee and she enjoys it too. I like picture sites and have downloaded a fair number of films. But the written word paints much better pictures.
Very soon, I will have a few stories to submit for others to read. For now, glad I am involved with a good community. Perhaps if those outside it realised the difference betwen fantasy and reality, it would be a much fairer World.
